8-Day Kilimanjaro Foothills, Arusha, Ngorongoro & Serengeti
Easy pace, big variety. Walk at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, explore Arusha National Park, descend into Ngorongoro Crater, and finish with wide-open Serengeti game drives. Private 4×4, experienced driver-guide, and comfortable lodges or tented camps. Start and finish in Arusha. You can add flights to/from the Serengeti to save time.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Arusha
Pick up from airport and transfer to your hotel.
Rest and trip briefing. Overnight in Arusha.
Day 2: Kilimanjaro Foothills day tour
Drive to the foothills (Marangu or Materuni area).
Short walk to a waterfall and a local coffee experience.
Views of Kilimanjaro if the sky is clear. Return to Arusha.
Day 3: Arusha National Park
Game drives for giraffes, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and Momella Lakes birdlife.
Optional canoe or ranger-guided walk (extra). Overnight in Arusha.
Day 4: Arusha → Ngorongoro area (Karatu or crater rim)
Drive to the Ngorongoro highlands.
Relax at the lodge and prepare for an early crater descent. Overnight nearby.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater → Serengeti (Central)
Early descent for a half-day crater game drive (great wildlife density).
Picnic by the hippo pool, then continue to Central Serengeti (Seronera).
Sunset game drive as you enter. Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 6: Serengeti — full day
Sunrise and afternoon game drives for lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds.
Picnic lunch in the bush or hot lunch at camp. Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 7: Serengeti — second full day
Explore a new area or follow fresh sightings with your guide.
Optional hot-air balloon at dawn (extra). Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 8: Serengeti → Arusha (or Zanzibar)
Short morning game drive if time allows.
Fly or drive back to Arusha. Trip ends with drop-off at hotel or airport.
Optional connection to Zanzibar.
